Safety Rules
1. Members of staff must supervise children at all times.
2. Children would normally be collected and signed out of the club by a designated person. Parents must give written consent if the child is being signed out by any other person than themselves.
3. Children must ask permission to leave the room to go to the toilet.
4. Members of staff are employed to provide a safe and secure environment for the children. They are expected always to be mindful of the children’s safety. Staff must not leave the Club and must spend their working hours engaging and supervising children.
5. A First Aid kit must be available at all times and an Accident Log Book must be completed after any/all incidents.
6. Bullying is totally unacceptable and should be reported to the Play Leader who will discuss this with parents and will consider suspending the child, an anti-bullying policy will be adopted.
7. Rubber gloves should be worn if dealing with bodily fluids.
8. Scissors, needles and sharp objects should only be used under supervision.
9. Children are not allowed to open windows.
10. There will be no access to gardens, access behind huts or throwing of stones when using the outdoor play area.
11. Children must at all times be careful not to damage any After School Club equipment or display work.
12. Children must assist in the tidying of the Club at allocated times, to avoid accidents.
13. Staff will not be permitted to consume hot drinks in the Club. Staff can have the use of a designated area for official breaks on Fridays.
